There is ample parking at the circuit and it is free for those who book 3 or more tickets. Please ensure to add a note to your booking after the checkout if you require circuit parking. The circuit is about a 40 minute drive from Manama and as local roads are made one-way for the weekend, traffic is usually minimal.
Renting a car is a convenient way to get around in Bahrain. Car rental prices can be similar to those in the UK, and petrol can be inexpensive in places, at approximately $0.50 USD per litre. The easiest place to rent a car from is Bahrain International Circuit, although there are other rental places located in Manama. You will need to show a copy of your drivers license at the rental counter.
Public buses are fantastic for getting around Bahrain on a budget, however only Route 16 stops close to the circuit, at Zallaq. From Isa Town, located on the southern outskirts of Manama, Bus Number 16 runs every 60 minutes to Zallaq from Monday-Saturday. Public transport has drastically changed in recent years, with new buses equipped with free 4G wifi, and a route map and timetable continuously expanding and developing.
Pay with cash or grab a rechargeable GO CARD for 500 fils (half a dinar) and just tap as you enter the bus. A single journey anywhere in the city costs 250 fils with the GO CARD or 300 if you pay in cash. They can be found and topped up at all main bus terminals and the airport.
Bahrain International Circuit provide shuttle services from major hotels in Manama to the circuit. For 2019, visitors staying in the Gulf Hotel, Intercontinental Regency, Sofitel, Downtown Rotana, K Hotel, Best Western Plus The Olive, Ramada City Centre, S Hotel, Swiss-Belhotel Seef, Domain Hotel, Wyndham Garden, Crowne Hotel, Diplomat Radisson Blu, Reef Resort & Spa, Sheraton, Jumeriah Royal Saray and Fraser Suites Seef all benefited from a free shuttle service running Monday-Sunday every 45 minutes. Although this has not been confirmed just yet for 2020, check with your hotel in advance to see if they are offering this.
Travelling by taxi is the most convenient option for getting around Bahrain over the race weekend. We recommend to ensure the meter is switched on and visible, and that your travel fare is agreed with the driver before you start your journey, so you can check how much your journey will cost. Reputable companies include Speedy Motor Taxis (+973 1768 2999) and Arabian Taxi (+973 1746 1746). However, we also recommend booking your taxi through your hotel concierge, as they can be an invaluable source of information! Uber also operate in Bahrain, and will be running throughout the race weekend. Please note, with Uber, payments are only accepted with card through the app.
Going to the circuit from downtown Manama costs approximately 15BHD ($40-45). On your way back after the Grand Prix there may be a long wait for taxis, so arrange pick up in advance where possible.
Due to the location of the circuit, it is not very accessible by foot. We strongly recommend travelling over the race weekend by car.
